Postdoc in clinical neuroscience

We aim to develop biomarkers that can quickly and reliably monitor the effects of therapy in scalp EEG recordings of children with epilepsy. In particular, High-Frequency Oscillations (HFO) have been recently proposed to monitor epilepsy therapy.

You will be responsible for the computational and theoretical aspects of the project, which aims to develop the optimal algorithms for identifying these biomarkers. While a large body of data is already available, you will also participate in data acquisition from scalp EEG in children with epilepsy. You will spend time both at the Department of Neuropediatrics, University Children’s Hospital, and at the Department of Neurosurgery, University Hospital Zurich.

We offer advanced, interdisciplinary Postdoc training and participation in cutting-edge clinical neuroscience research projects. The highly competitive salary follows Swiss National Science Foundation guidelines. The successful candidate will benefit from the ZNZ postdoctoral program.

You have a PhD degree in Neuroscience, Psychology, Physics or related fields; knowledge in programming, time series analysis and machine learning; good written and spoken English; strong team-working abilities and excellent communication skills. Basic knowledge in neuroscience is required. For communicating with patients and technicians during EEG recordings, some German would be beneficial.
